Just what is the Amazon Kendle?

Everywhere I go I hear people talking about the Amazon Kendle. At the shopping mall, picking my youngest up from the school gate, even in the aisle at WalMart. But no one can tell me what it is!

Is it some weird new crocodile just discovered in South America? Or perhaps a small town in England? An energy bar for hikers perhaps?

But that's nothing compared with the ideas I've heard of how its spelled. My neighbour is convinced it's Amazon Kendle, the paperboy swears it's Amazon Kendal, my daughter's teacher says Amazon Kandal and my best friend thinks Amazon Kendale is the best bet (maybe something French?).

I even asked my son, but he just laughed at me. After that I figured I'd better find out what's going on (I didn't want to find out at the PTA meeting I'd missed the name of the latest craze drug and get laughed at), so I turned to Google and after a lot of searching I found out the truth.

First, its spelled Amazon Kindle (said like Candle) and apparently its some kind of fancy ultralight computer that you can read hundreds of books on and only need to carry around one light pad. Cool!
